Plot Overview

Netflix’s Our Little Secret tries to sprinkle holiday cheer with a rom-com setup centered around family drama, exes, and awkward reunions. The story kicks off in 1996, where childhood friends Logan (Ian Harding) and Avery (Lindsay Lohan) fall in love, only to part ways abruptly in 2014. Fast forward to the present, both have moved on with new partners—Logan is dating Cassie (Katie Baker), and Avery is with Cameron (Job Rudnitksy). The twist? Cassie and Cameron are siblings.

This revelation forces Logan and Avery to reunite under one roof during the Christmas holidays, navigating not just the dysfunction of their new blended family but also their unresolved feelings. What follows is a chaotic mix of holiday awkwardness, unresolved emotions, and light-hearted humor, making it a reasonably entertaining family-friendly watch.

Performance & Review

The film marks Lindsay Lohan’s return to her rom-com roots, and she delivers a commendable performance, pairing well with Ian Harding, who also brings charm to his role. Their chemistry adds some emotional weight to an otherwise predictable script.

However, Our Little Secret falls short of its potential. Directed by Stephen Herek, the film struggles with pacing and relies heavily on clichés. While some comedic moments land, many feel forced or monotonous, detracting from the festive vibe. The supporting cast, including Katie Baker, Job Rudnitksy, and Judy Reyes, deliver solid performances, but they aren’t enough to lift the film beyond its formulaic plot.

Final Verdict

Our Little Secret is a nostalgic treat for fans of Lindsay Lohan and a decent one-time watch for the holiday season. While it doesn’t break new ground, it manages to deliver a few laughs and heartfelt moments. That said, the predictable storyline and uneven humor make it less of a standout in the holiday rom-com genre.
