Vicky Kaushal Transforms into Legendary Warrior Parashurama for ‘Mahavatar’
First Look Reveals Vicky Kaushal in a Powerful Avatar, With Amar Kaushik-Directed Epic Set to Release Christmas 2026
Vicky Kaushal’s career continues to soar as he gears up for his next major project, Mahavatar. The actor recently unveiled the first poster for the much-anticipated film, which features him in a striking new look as the legendary warrior Chiranjeevi Parashurama. Directed by Amar Kaushik, Mahavatar is set to hit theaters on Christmas 2026, bringing the story of the ancient fighter to life.
In the released poster, Kaushal is almost unrecognizable with his long, unkempt hair, a rugged beard, and intense expression. He’s seen wielding a weapon, dressed in a traditional rust-colored dhoti, and adorned with Rudraksha beads around his arms and wrists, embodying the fierce persona of Parashurama.
Sharing the poster, Vicky captioned it, “Dinesh Vijan brings to life the story of the eternal warrior of dharma! Vicky Kaushal stars as Chiranjeevi Parashurama in #Mahavatar, directed by Amar Kaushik. Coming to cinemas – Christmas 2026!”
Parashurama is a pivotal character in Hindu mythology, known not only for his battles against the Asuras but also for training legendary warriors like Bhishma, Dronacharya, and Karna. His story is woven into the fabric of the Mahabharata, where he famously confronted Bhishma to fulfill Amba’s vow of vengeance, although he ultimately did not succeed.
On the professional front, Kaushal was last seen in Bad Newz alongside Ammy Virk and Triptii Dimri. His upcoming project, Love & War, will feature him alongside Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, adding another exciting chapter to his filmography.
