House of Dragons
Watch out for Lord Corlys Velaryon (Steve Touissant) and of course, Ser Otto Hightower, the Hand of the King, even though House of the Dragon focuses on Targaryen history. These important houses may have sworn allegiance to Viscerys, but that hasn’t stopped them from pursuing greater ambitions (Rhys Ifans). In the second episode, a new foe named Craghas Drahar, also known as The Crabfeeder, is also introduced.
This episode does put more of an emphasis on the mind games while keeping the graphic parts a notch lower than the first episode. The “Queen that never was,” played by Eve Best, and Princess Rhaenyra (Alcock), had a particularly memorable argument in which the former says, “Men would sooner put the country to the fire than see a woman sit on the Iron throne.” This helps to put things into perspective and explains why what Emilia Clarke’s Daenerys Targaryen accomplished 172 years later was such an incredible feat that required an improbable trip.
