Govinda Discharged After Health Scare, Reassures Fans “All Good”
Bollywood’s evergreen fun-king says the fainting spell was due to overwork, emphasises yoga and pranayama as his recovery path.

Veteran actor Govinda has been discharged from Mumbai’s CritiCare Asia Multispeciality Hospital after being admitted early Wednesday for fainting and disorientation at his residence. His close friend and legal advisor Lalit Bindal confirmed that the actor was taken to the hospital after feeling weak and anxious since Tuesday morning.
Stepping out of the hospital in his signature stylish manner, Govinda smiled and waved to photographers waiting outside, assuring everyone that he was feeling fine. He joked with the media, saying, “Zyada hard work kar lia… fatigue hogaya tha… ab theek hoon,” explaining that the episode was simply caused by exhaustion.
Speaking about his lifestyle, the actor highlighted how important yoga has become for him, adding that while he used to push himself through tough workout routines, he now prefers mindfulness and balance. “Zyada exercise karte hain, woh tough hai… main try kar raha hoon ke personality aur achi ho jaye. Yog aur pranayam karein, woh hi acha hai,” he said.
According to those close to him, all of Govinda’s medical reports were normal, and the hospital released him after doctors confirmed there was nothing serious. The 60-year-old actor is now resting at home and focusing on his health.
Interestingly, his hospitalisation came just days after he visited veteran actor Dharmendra, who had been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital. Fans expressed relief after seeing Govinda back on his feet, smiling and interacting warmly with the paparazzi.
With over 120 films to his name, Govinda remains one of Bollywood’s most beloved entertainers, known for his impeccable comic timing, energetic dance moves, and enduring charm that defined Hindi cinema in the 1990s.
