The episode opens on Morticia and Gomez pampering Thing with a guilt-fueled massage while Morticia frets about calling her mother for the school gala. Their romantic distraction is cut short when she catches Wednesday rummaging through her room for Goody’s book.

Wednesday warns her about a vision of Enid’s death, but Morticia refuses, claiming her visions aren’t always right and worrying she’s turning into Ophelia. Wednesday shifts her focus to solving the case without the book. Enid hopes she’ll join the school’s camping trip, but Wednesday has her sights set on the killer.

Agnes barges in offering help and is promptly shut down. Meanwhile, Pugsley reunites with the regenerating Slurp, oblivious to its taste for human brains. He sneaks it along for the trip.

At Galpin’s sparse funeral, Sheriff Santiago warns Wednesday off, but Fairburn slips her a lead: Galpin’s encounter with Tyler triggered a dangerous Hyde rage. Wednesday learns of a “bullpen” connected to her case, conveniently near the camping site. She joins the trip, much to Enid’s delight and Dort’s suspicion.

The camp is double-booked, leading to a challenge for rival cadets to a capture-the-flag-style game. She zip-lines to victory, securing the campsite and a chance to search the bullpen, where she finds obituaries of Willow Hill patients, one named Lois catching her eye.

Back at camp, tensions rise. Morticia still withholds the book, prompting Wednesday to challenge her to a blindfold duel. Chaos erupts when Slurp escapes, nearly eats Gomez’s brain, and kills Ron before being taken away by Willow Hill authorities.

Wednesday loses the duel and the book but gains determination and a new mystery. The episode ends with Thornhill walking into Willow Hill.

This chapter blends family drama, monster mayhem, and competitive chaos into a sharp, fast-paced watch. Morticia’s fear of Wednesday becoming Ophelia gives their conflict emotional weight, while Gomez remains the comic, chaotic glue of the family.

The camping trip challenge is a highlight, showing Wednesday’s cunning in a setting that’s part summer camp, part gladiator arena. The Slurp subplot continues to be a strange mix of hilarious and horrifying.

Pugsley’s misguided loyalty makes the monster’s eventual rampage sting more, especially when Ron becomes dinner. It’s also a clever way to keep Willow Hill in the spotlight because nothing says “ominous institution” like them carting off a brain-hungry creature.

Wednesday’s loss in the duel works well; she’s brilliant, but not invincible, and that keeps the stakes alive. The Lois lead from the bullpen scene is a perfect breadcrumb for the mystery arc, while Thornhill’s return is pure trouble waiting to happen.

The episode closes with Wednesday more determined than ever, and us certain that camping trips with the Addams family should come with hazard pay.
