Ratings: 3/5

Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths, Part Three showcases the Anti-Monitor’s relentless assault on various Earths and their inhabitants. Unlike the previous two films, this installment forgoes extensive exposition, resulting in a faster-paced narrative. However, the film’s pacing is uneven, with the first half moving slower compared to the more action-packed second half. This shift ultimately unites heroes and villains from different times and spaces to combat evil together, earning the film a rating of 3/5.

Plot

Picking up from Part Two, where a distraught Supergirl (Meh Donnelly) kills the Monitor (Jonathan Adams), this movie thrusts everyone into the Bleed—an unstable dimension existing outside the Multiverse and hidden from the Anti-Monitor. The Bleed defies the laws of physics, causing past and future timelines to collide dramatically, such as dinosaurs stampeding through Earth-1’s metropolis and Nazis from World War II invading Gotham of Earth-2 to steal Batman’s rogues’ technology.

Various Earths seek refuge in this zone, where they are shielded. Lex Luthor of Earth-10, escaping Psycho Pirate’s torture, joins the coalition to prevent Earth’s destruction.

Review

This animated film concludes the trilogy, featuring the final performances of Batman (Kevin Conroy) and Joker (Mark Hamill). It reveals Constantine and Flash as responsible for the Anti-Monitor Crisis. Despite its grand scale, the movie lacks genuine suspense and impact during dramatic scenes like exploding planets or ripped space. Its main goal is to wrap up remaining plot threads and conclude the new animated DC universe on a satisfying note.

Notable events include Flash (Barry Allen)’s death and the formation of Earth-1 in Justice League, as well as the introduction of Earth-2’s second-generation Justice Society in Part One. Part Two explores the origin stories of Earth-1’s Supergirl and Earth-2’s Psycho Pirate, both pivotal to the trilogy. Ultimately, the movie delivers an epic conclusion, summing up the main characters’ roles effectively.
