Zendeya makes history at Emmys

Zendaya has now won the acting Emmy twice, breaking a previous record in the process. For her work in Euphoria, Zendaya won Lead Actress in a Drama Series at the 2022 Emmy Awards. The actress already won an Emmy in the same category in 2020 for her work in the movie Euphoria, making this her second triumph in that area.

Her most recent achievement makes her the youngest two-time acting Emmy winner and the first Black woman to win Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series twice. Zendaya, who played Rue Bennett again in the second season of Euphoria, has won praise from critics for her portrayal. “Thank you to the Academy, thank you to my friends and family, some of whom are here today,” Zendaya said after receiving the honour.
