Young Actor Mamie Laverock on Life Support After Tragic Fall
“When Calls the Heart” Star Suffers Severe Injuries Following Balcony Accident

Mamie Laverock, the 19-year-old actress renowned for her portrayal of Rosaleen Sullivan on the Hallmark Channel series “When Calls the Heart,” is currently on life support after a devastating five-story fall from a balcony walkway, as detailed in a GoFundMe page created by her family.
Laverock had been in the hospital receiving “intensive treatment” for two weeks due to an unspecified “medical emergency.” According to the GoFundMe page organized by her parents, Rob and Nicole Compton, she was escorted out of a secure hospital unit and led to a balcony walkway, from which she subsequently fell.
The fall resulted in life-threatening injuries, necessitating multiple extensive surgeries. “We are all devastated, in shock, at this intensely difficult time,” her parents expressed in the fundraiser description.

The ordeal began when Laverock’s mother traveled to Winnipeg, Canada, on May 11 to assist her daughter with the medical emergency. The GoFundMe page notes, “Nicole was able to get there in time to save her life.” Following this, Laverock was transferred to a hospital in Vancouver. Although her parents mentioned that “her recovery is unclear,” they also noted that “she is alive and is showing signs of improvement.”
Hallmark Media issued a heartfelt statement to Variety: “We are deeply saddened to hear the news about Mamie. As a beloved member of our When Calls the Heart community, we wish her and her family peace, comfort, and many prayers during this difficult time.”
Laverock’s tragic fall occurred on May 26, over two weeks after her initial hospitalization. The specifics of her medical emergency remain undisclosed. In the wake of the accident, her “When Calls the Heart” co-stars have rallied in support. Erin Krakow promoted the GoFundMe page on Instagram, encouraging donations, while Johannah Newmarch expressed her heartbreak on X, urging followers to support the family. Loretta Walsh also shared the fundraiser link, asking for donations and sharing in the family’s need for support.
Laverock has appeared in nine episodes of “When Calls the Heart” from 2014 to 2023, including the premiere episode. Her other acting credits include roles in “This Means War,” “A Series of Unfortunate Events,” and “The Hollow Child.”
