Will Smith on Fans Rejecting ‘EMANCIPATION’

After slapping comedian Chris Rock on stage at the Oscars earlier this year, actor Will Smith said he would “totally understand” if viewers are not “ready” to see his new film, “Emancipation.”
According to report, a US-based news source, Antoine Fuqua’s new drama “Emancipation!” will be the first new Smith film to be released after the actor hit Chris Rock in the face on stage at the awards ceremony in March 2022.
Smith was reprimanded for the incident, for which he has subsequently apologized twice and left the Academy.

In a recent interview, the actor said that because of his jab at the Oscars, he would understand “if people were not prepared to see his film.”
“I completely understand – if someone is not ready, I would absolutely respect that and allow them their space to not be ready,” he said, adding, “My deepest concern is my team — Antoine has done what I think is the greatest work of his entire career.”
