Vishal Bhardwaj Unveils Potential Unmade Projects Starring Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan

In a recent revelation, acclaimed filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj has disclosed details about two ambitious film projects that never saw the light of day, featuring Bollywood giants Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan. Bhardwaj, known for his directorial prowess in films like Omkara, spoke about his unrealized collaboration with Shah Rukh Khan on an adaptation of Chetan Bhagat’s “2 States.”

The filmmaker had envisioned a unique setting for the film, intending to place it in a bank, specifically ICICI, deviating from the conventional college backdrop. However, creative differences arose between Bhardwaj and Shah Rukh Khan, leading to the project’s abandonment. Bhardwaj shared, “We had differences over the setting of it. I wanted to set it not in a college but in a bank like ICICI. So, that’s where we were different. Shah Rukh wanted it in a different setting.”

In addition to the unrealized collaboration with Shah Rukh Khan, Bhardwaj also shed light on a project with Aamir Khan titled “Mr Mehta And Mrs Singh,” which ultimately fell through. According to Bhardwaj, Aamir Khan, known for his strong creative views, became uncomfortable with the filmmaker’s vision for the film as they approached the shooting phase. This disagreement led to the abandonment of the project, with Aamir suggesting that they collaborate on a future venture where mutual agreement could be reached.

Despite these setbacks, Bhardwaj expressed optimism about future collaborations with the two superstars. He shared his hope for a day when they could work together on projects where creative visions align. Currently, Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for his third release of 2023, titled “Dunki,” while Aamir Khan is yet to announce his next project following the reception of “Laal Singh Chaddha.”

Vishal Bhardwaj, meanwhile, continues to receive acclaim for his latest work, “Khufiya,” available on Netflix, adding to his impressive repertoire of cinematic achievements.
