Village Vigilante: RK Suresh’s ‘Kaaduvetty’ Set to Unsheath on March 3

Actor-turned-producer RK Suresh’s much-anticipated venture, ‘Kaduvetty’, is poised for its cinematic debut. Suresh, essaying the protagonist’s role, has unveiled the film’s release date as March 3, 2024, under the direction of Solai Arumugam.

In a striking first-look glimpse shared in 2021, RK Suresh captivated audiences, brandishing a machete with a menacing twirl of his mustache, hinting at a narrative ripe with vengeance. The film, entrenched in rural ethos, boldly addresses pertinent social issues.

Directed by Solai Arumugam, the film features a stellar cast including RK Suresh, Subramaniam Siva, and Aadukalam Murugadoss. Adding soul to the cinematic narrative, ‘Vanakkam Thamizha’ Sadiq lends his musical prowess to the project.

However, amidst the anticipation, a legal hurdle emerges. The son of Kaduvetti Guru, a late PMK luminary, petitioned for a ban on the film “Maveera,” chronicling the life of his father. The court has summoned responses from the censor board and director V Gowthaman in this regard.

Kaduvetti Guru, revered as the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) leader and president of Vanniyar Sangam, passed away on May 25, 2018. Director V Gowthaman, known for his poignant Tamil dramas such as “Kanave Kalaiyadhe” and “Magizhchi,” has meticulously crafted “Maveera” to encapsulate the essence of the leader’s life, awaiting its theatrical unveiling.
