Meanwhile, Karthik Subbaraj commemorated the two-year anniversary of “Mahaan” with a poster on social media, praising Vikram’s performance.

The original film, directed and written by Karthik Subbaraj, centered on the character Gandhi Mahaan, who rebels against his family’s adherence to Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals. “Mahaan” marked the first on-screen collaboration between Vikram and his son Dhruv, supported by a stellar cast including Bobby Simha, Sananth, and Simran.

In an earlier interview, Karthik Subbaraj expressed disappointment over “Mahaan” not having a theatrical release. The potential sequel might serve as a redemption for the director, hinting at a theatrical debut this time around.
