Vijay Deverakonda Gears Up for a Comeback with Back-to-Back Big-Budget Projects

The Tollywood star preps for an intense action thriller and an ambitious period drama, hoping to reclaim his blockbuster streak in 2024.

Vijay Deverakonda, one of Tollywood’s most popular actors, is eagerly searching for a film that will reignite his career with a much-needed blockbuster. Currently, he’s working on VD12, a high-octane action thriller helmed by Gowtam Tinnanuri. In this project, Deverakonda will step into the role of a police officer, with the film’s release slated for next year.

Adding to the excitement, Deverakonda has also locked in another collaboration with Rahul Sankrityan, the director of his earlier hit Taxiwala. This new film, produced by Mythri Movie Makers, will be a period drama set in the 18th century.

According to Telugu360 the project comes with high stakes, carrying a massive budget of around ₹120 crores. With Sankrityan having spent two years developing the script, the story has impressed both Deverakonda and the producers. Mythri Movie Makers is fully backing the film, which is scheduled to begin production early next year. Deverakonda is also set to command a hefty remuneration for his role, matching the scale of this ambitious period drama.

With these two high-profile ventures in the pipeline, Deverakonda aims to make 2024 a defining year in his career.
