Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video Sparks Legal Controversy Over Alleged Plot Theft

Producers Sanjay Tiwari and Gul Bano Khan Serve Legal Notice to Filmmakers, Claiming Rights to Original Story Registered in 2015

The plot of the upcoming Hindi film Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video has stirred controversy, with legal action now looming over its creators. Producers Sanjay Tiwari and Gul Bano Khan have issued a legal notice to the filmmakers, accusing them of using a concept that was originally registered by Gul Bano in 2015.

Speaking to IANS, Gul Bano clarified her stance, saying, “The core idea behind Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video was registered by me with the Screen Writers Association (SWA) in 2015 as a writer. The film was initially supposed to be produced by Sanjay Tiwari’s production house.” However, the project was put on hold for undisclosed reasons.

Now, Bano and Tiwari have taken legal steps, sending notices to the film’s current producers, which include major banners like T-Series, Balaji Motion Pictures, Wake Films LLP, Kathvachak Films, and AA Films Private Limited. A copy of this legal notification was shared by Bano with IANS, reinforcing the claim.

According to the notice, the original story registered in 2015 was titled Sex Hai Toh Life Hai and revolved around a couple who accidentally lose a personal DVD, setting off a series of chaotic events as they try to retrieve it before it falls into the wrong hands.

Bano also revealed that she had reached out to the Screen Writers Association via email, seeking to file a formal complaint against the makers of Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video for allegedly lifting her concept.

The film in question, directed and produced by Bhushan Kumar and Raaj Shaandilyaa, follows a newlywed couple, Vicky and Vidya, who face a similar predicament when their private video is stolen. The film tracks their frantic attempts to recover it, leading to a series of comedic situations and unexpected challenges.

As the legal battle unfolds, it remains to be seen how this controversy will affect the film’s release and reception.
