According to Midday, Ajay Devgn, who recently announced a directorial venture featuring Akshay Kumar, is eyeing Vicky Kaushal as the parallel lead in a high-octane action comedy. A source close to the development revealed that Ajay was impressed by Vicky’s dedication and felt the dynamic pairing of Akshay and Vicky would bring a fresh energy to the film.

The insider added that Akshay Kumar has already approved the film’s concept, which promises a blend of thrilling action sequences and laugh-out-loud comedy. The movie’s first draft is reportedly complete, and Ajay plans to kick off production in late 2025.

Ajay teased the project earlier during the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit 2024, confirming his directorial collaboration with Akshay Kumar. While details remain under wraps, Ajay expressed enthusiasm for the venture, saying, “We are working on something special, but it’s too early to share more.”

Meanwhile, shooting for Love & War, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus, is already underway. This marks Vicky Kaushal’s first collaboration with the celebrated director and sees Ranbir Kapoor reuniting with SLB after nearly two decades. The film also stars Alia Bhatt, re-teaming with Bhansali after her acclaimed performance in Gangubai Kathiawadi.

Set against the backdrop of a war, Love & War explores a gripping love triangle. Both Vicky and Ranbir were recently spotted at an Air Force base in Rajasthan, reportedly prepping for their roles. Scheduled for a theatrical release on March 20, 2026, the film promises to be an unforgettable cinematic experience.
