Vashu Bhagnani Praises Akshay Kumar and Shah Rukh Khan’s Resilience in Film Industry Comebacks

Amidst the buzz surrounding the nearing release of the much-anticipated film “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan,” starring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, producer Vashu Bhagnani recently shared insights on the comeback journeys of both Akshay Kumar and Shah Rukh Khan in a recent interview with Connect FM Canada.

Bhagnani, a veteran in the film industry, expressed admiration for Akshay Kumar’s return to the silver screen through “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan,” following a string of box-office setbacks. Reflecting on Kumar’s career trajectory, Bhagnani drew parallels with Shah Rukh Khan’s resurgence in 2023, where Khan bounced back with three consecutive successful films after facing significant flops.

In Bhagnani’s view, fate plays a pivotal role in the film business, and he emphasized that actors bear minimal responsibility for a film’s failure, except in cases of losing interest midway. Praising Kumar’s versatility, he noted, “Akshay Kumar is a skilled actor; he discerns what works and what doesn’t. Even in films that faced setbacks, his performances remained exemplary.”

Turning to Shah Rukh Khan, Bhagnani hailed him as a brilliant actor, fondly referred to as ‘King Khan’ by fans. Despite encountering rough patches, Khan’s immense popularity and acting prowess kept audiences eager for his return. Bhagnani underscored that Kumar’s forthcoming release, “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan,” evokes similar anticipation due to his track record of delivering impactful films like “Toilet Ek Prem Katha” and “Housefull.”

Discussing the factors behind film failures, Bhagnani attributed them to a combination of producer, director, actor, or script selection. He further highlighted Shah Rukh Khan’s monumental impact on the industry with his recent successes, stating that Khan’s contributions saved the industry from a downturn and hoped for his enduring legacy in the future.

Addressing his own film ventures, Bhagnani candidly acknowledged the mixed results, citing successes like “OMG 2,” “Gadar 2,” and “Animal,” alongside setbacks such as “Ganapath.” Despite setbacks, he maintained a positive outlook, attributing outcomes to luck while emphasizing the importance of making films with good intentions.

Speaking specifically about his collaboration with Akshay Kumar, Bhagnani expressed respect and admiration for Kumar’s character, describing him as a person of integrity and goodwill.

“Bade Miyan Chote Miyan,” featuring a stellar cast including Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Manushi Chhillar, Ronit Roy, Alaya F, and Prithviraj Sukumaran, is set to hit theaters on April 10, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Eid, promising an exciting cinematic experience for audiences.
