Vanessa Lachey Bids Farewell to NCIS: Hawai’i with Heartfelt Reflection
Following CBS’s cancellation of the series after three seasons, Vanessa Lachey shares her emotional sentiments on social media

Vanessa Lachey recently took to social media to express her emotions following the announcement of CBS’s decision to cancel NCIS: Hawai’i after three seasons. In a heartfelt post, Lachey reminisced about her time on the show and expressed her desire for a more fitting farewell.
Accompanied by a serene video overlooking the ocean, captured by her husband Nick Lachey, Vanessa shared a poignant message about the significance of the show in her life. “Forever your Sweet Jane… This was the same spot where I filmed episode 1,” she wrote on Instagram. “As I sat here today, knowing our show is over, I turned to her again… what do we do now…(please protect us all) She answered with ease.”
Reflecting on the transient nature of life, Vanessa drew parallels between the ebb and flow of waves and the fleetingness of existence. “Just as the air hits the water & the water hits the land, the waves connect to the shore, some with a huge impact, then… it goes back out. You see… we aren’t meant to be here forever, we are on borrowed time,” she shared.
Expressing her gratitude for the experience and her disappointment at the lack of a proper goodbye, Vanessa emphasized the bond shared with her cast and crew. “I know we ALL are connected deeper than any TV show. I will go to the ends of the earth for my cast & crew!” she exclaimed.
Ending her message with a touch of Hawaiian culture, Vanessa bid farewell to the show’s fans and crew with the phrase “A Hui Hou,” meaning ‘until we meet again.’ “To you all & especially the beloved fans… A Hui Hou,” she said. “Love Always, Your Sweet Jane.”
Vanessa’s words encapsulate the bittersweet sentiment surrounding the conclusion of NCIS: Hawai’i and the enduring impact it has had on all involved.
