The much-anticipated trailer for Nikesh RS’s latest cinematic venture, “Rebel,” featuring GV Prakash Kumar and Mamitha Baiju in pivotal roles, was unveiled to eager fans by the film’s producers on Monday. Preceded by heightened interest sparked by intriguing posters, the endorsement from renowned actor Dhanush further solidified the film’s legitimacy.

Taking to social media platform X, Dhanush shared the trailer for “Rebel” with a message, “Best wishes to dearest @gvprakash and team Rebel. In theaters from March 22nd. (sic)” Prakash graciously acknowledged Dhanush’s gesture, expressing gratitude with a reply, “Thank u so much, my dear brother.” Additionally, Prakash shared the trailer on his X account, captioning it, “A powerful voice from Tamil and Tamil cinema is here… a true incident… here is the trailer of #Rebel. In theaters from March 22nd.”

The trailer, spanning 2 minutes and 17 seconds, offers a glimpse into the storyline of “Rebel.” The protagonist, Kathiresan, portrayed by Prakash, hails from Munnar and ventures to Palakkad for higher education. Entranced by Mamitha’s character, his life takes a tumultuous turn amidst escalating tensions between Tamilians and locals. What starts as a student dispute spirals into a complex web involving law enforcement and local authorities, showcasing Kathiresan’s evolution from a reserved student to a rebellious leader.

Produced under the Studio Green banner by KE Gnanavel Raja and directed by Nikesh, “Rebel” marks Mamitha’s debut in Tamil cinema.
