Unveiling Bhakshak: A Gripping Tale of Justice Unfolding on Netflix

In a riveting crime drama set to premiere on February 9, Netflix India brings forth “Bhakshak,” a film inspired by true events. Red Chillies Entertainment, spearheaded by co-producers Gaurav Verma and Gauri Khan, takes the helm in this cinematic venture. The eagerly awaited trailer was revealed by the producers on Thursday.

The narrative delves into the relentless pursuit of justice by Vaishali Singh, portrayed by Bhumi Pednekar, an investigative journalist aiming to expose a heinous crime and unveil the harsh realities of crimes against women. The film showcases Bhumi in a departure from her previous urban comedy, “Thank You For Coming.”

In a teaser moment, Bhumi’s character emphatically declares, “Bachchon ke adhikar ke liye lad rahe hain hum, samajh rahi ho?” (Are you understanding that we are fighting for the rights of girls?) Director Pulkit, echoing these sentiments, emphasized the film’s mission in a statement, saying, “We wanted to bring attention to the harsh facts of society and start a dialogue that would result in significant change. I hope to see more people participate in this crucial conversation.”

“Bhakshak” marks Red Chillies Entertainment’s return to digital publication after a few years, following Jasmeet K Reen’s 2022 dark comedy, “Darlings,” a co-production with Alia Bhatt’s Eternal Sunshine Productions, also available for streaming on Netflix India.
