True Detective Star Anna Lambe Takes Lead in Netflix’s Arctic Comedy: A Frozen Frontier Tale”

True Detective actress Anna Lambe has landed the lead role in an unnamed Arctic-set comedy for Netflix, the CBC, and APTN in Canada. Seven-year-old Inuk actress Keira Cooper will also be leading the show, with Anya Adams serving as the producing director of the Canadian show.

In the ten-part comedy, Anna Lambe plays the role of a young Inuk mother named Siaja, who wants to establish a new future for herself but finds it difficult in a small Arctic town where everyone knows her business. Keira Cooper plays the role of Siaja’s daughter, Bun, in her on-screen debut.

The show is created and written by Stacey Aglok MacDonald and Alethea Arnaquq-Baril, with executive producer Miranda de Pencier. In a statement, MacDonald and Arnaquq-Baril said,

“We cannot wait for the world to see the brilliance of Anna Lambe. Our leading lady who hails from our home territory of Nunavut! And we’re thrilled to work with director Anya Adams. Her creative excellence and infectious passion are the perfect match for our vision.”

The co-producers of the show include Red Marrow Media and Northwood Entertainment. Canadian-American director Anya Adams will be directing the first episode of the show, which starts production in Nunavut, Canada, in spring 2024.

Anna Lambe is represented by LBI Entertainment and Integral Artists, and Anya Adams is represented by Gersh and 3 Arts Entertainment.
