Triptii Dimri Steps into Lead Role Opposite Prabhas in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s ‘Spirit’

Following Deepika Padukone’s Exit, Rising Star Triptii Dimri Joins the Pan-India Action Drama, Amplifying Anticipation for the 2025 Production

In a significant casting update, Triptii Dimri has been officially announced as the female lead in the upcoming pan-India film Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and starring Prabhas. This development follows Deepika Padukone’s departure from the project due to reported disagreements over work conditions and compensation.

Dimri, who garnered acclaim for her role in Vanga’s previous film Animal, will now share the screen with Prabhas in this much-anticipated action drama. The official announcement was made by T-Series, the film’s production house, on their Instagram handle, expressing excitement over the new on-screen pairing.

Deepika Padukone was initially slated to star opposite Prabhas in Spirit, marking her first collaboration with director Vanga. However, reports suggest that Padukone’s exit was due to her demands for an eight-hour workday, a fee of ₹20 crore, profit-sharing, and a refusal to dub her lines in Telugu, which the producers found challenging to accommodate.

Triptii Dimri’s inclusion in Spirit is seen as a significant career move, especially after her standout performance in Animal. Her portrayal in the film earned her widespread recognition, and she was even dubbed “the next big thing in Bollywood” by filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma. With Spirit, Dimri is poised to further cement her position in the industry.

Spirit is set to commence shooting in 2025 and is touted as one of the most anticipated films of the year. The film will feature Prabhas as a tough police officer from a middle-class background, a role that promises intense action and drama. With the new casting, fans are eagerly awaiting the fresh chemistry between Prabhas and Triptii Dimri on the big screen.
