From “Animal” to “Qala,” Triptii Shares Insights into Her Career Choices, Feminist Perspectives, and Exciting New Projects

In a recent interview with Filmfare, Triptii Dimri discussed her career choices, including her controversial role in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal. While the 2023 film, starring Ranbir Kapoor, generated mixed opinions, especially with critics accusing it of promoting toxic masculinity, Triptii disagreed with the “anti-feminist” label some placed on it. For her, Animal was a significant milestone, marking her foray into a large-scale, high-budget production after smaller, yet impactful, roles in Bulbbul and Qala.

Triptii explained that her decision to take on such diverse roles was deeply tied to her connection with the characters, rather than any external labels. Her performances in Qala and Bulbbul were driven by an emotional attachment to the characters, and she trusted the vision of the directors involved.

Discussing her Animal role, Triptii shared that director Vanga had a unique perspective on her character. While details about the story were sparse, Vanga focused on the emotional essence of her character—a mix of innocence and determination. This intriguing contrast captivated Triptii and motivated her to take the role, as it offered a break from her usual “goody” character types.

Triptii also expressed her excitement about working on a big-budget film, something that was new to her after the intimate-scale experiences of her earlier projects. She looked forward to learning from the production scale of Animal while continuing to stay true to her passion for meaningful, character-driven roles.

On the horizon, Triptii is set to appear in several high-profile films, including Bad Newz with Vicky Kaushal, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video with Rajkummar Rao, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 alongside Kartik Aaryan. She is also preparing for her next project, Dhadak 2, where she will share the screen with Siddhant Chaturvedi.
