Taylor Sheridan’s ‘Lawmen: Bass Reeves’ Drops Teaser Trailer

The first teaser trailer of the upcoming American Western television series executive produced by Taylor Sheridan, ‘Lawmen: Bass Reeves’ has been released.

The show’s official description reads,
“Revealing the untold story of the most legendary lawman in the Old West, ‘Lawmen: Bass Reeves’ follows the journey of Reeves (Oyelowo) and his rise from enslavement to law enforcement as the first Black U.S. Marshal west of the Mississippi. Despite arresting over 3,000 outlaws during the course of his career, the weight of the badge was heavy, and he wrestled with its moral and spiritual cost to his beloved family.”

The series created by Chad Feehan, who also serves as showrunner, will be an anthology series, and each season will highlight a distinct influential historical lawman and/or outlaw who impacted history.

The series stars Emmy nominee David Oyelowo as the first Black U.S. Marshal west of the Mississippi, Lauren E. Banks, Demi Singleton, Forrest Goodluck, Barry Pepper, Donald Sutherland, and Dennis Quaid.

Shea Whigham and Garrett Hedlund will be having guest appearances. Joaquina Kalukango, Lonnie Chavis, Grantham Coleman, Tosin Morohunfola, Dale Dickey, Rob Morgan, Ryan O’Nan, Margot Bingham, Mo Brings Plenty, Justin Hurtt-Dunkley and Bill Dawes will have recurring roles.

The series follows another freshman Sheridan drama, ‘Special-Ops: Lioness,’ which had its first season finale last week.

‘Lawmen: Bass Reeves’ will be making its debut with its first two episodes on Paramount+ on November 5, 2023.
