SS Rajamouli’s Next Epic with Mahesh Babu Set to Begin Filming in 2025
After the global success of RRR, Rajamouli is taking extra time to prepare for his next ambitious forest adventure, featuring Mahesh Babu and aiming for an international release

After the massive international acclaim of RRR, director SS Rajamouli is setting the stage for another major cinematic experience. His upcoming project, which stars superstar Mahesh Babu in the lead, is an action-packed forest adventure with plans for a simultaneous international release. Originally, Rajamouli had aimed to kick off filming in April or May this year after six months of pre-production. However, the scale of the project has led to extended preparation, pushing the start date back by several months.
Rajamouli is meticulously working through the details, with the pre-production phase now extended by an additional six months. Given the global scope of the film, multiple international locations, and potential collaborations, the director is taking his time to ensure everything is perfect.
The film is now set to begin shooting in the first quarter of 2025. Rajamouli is also exploring partnerships with international studios and expects to finalize those arrangements soon. He personally scouted several countries, locking in key locations for the movie. In the meantime, he is fine-tuning the final draft of the script.
Mahesh Babu, taking advantage of the delay, is working on his appearance and participating in workshops to prepare for the role. Both he and Rajamouli are expected to interact with the media before production officially begins. The major cast has already been finalized, with MM Keeravani composing the music and KL Narayana producing the film. Fans can expect more updates early next year as the project takes shape.
