Speculation Abounds as Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi Reunite in Munna Bhai Attire, But Munna Bhai 3 Still Uncertain

A third installment in the Munna Bhai series has long been anticipated by fans, and every time stars Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi are photographed together, it fuels rumors that something is about to happen. When Dutt and Warsi, dressed as their characters Munna and Circuit, were recently spotted, similar discussions flared up once more, and social media was ablaze with rumours that Munna Bhai 3 is finally happening after 17 years. The fact that director Rajkummar Hirrani was on the set—which appeared to be a hospital—only strengthened the rumours.

The trio had actually gotten together for an advertisement shoot rather than their much anticipated sequel, as it turned out. “A movie is not currently being made. The BTS footage for the commercial they produced for a hospital was posted online, which sparked the rumours, claims a source.

Nevertheless, many industry insiders believe that Munna Bhai 3 might never be made. Another source expands on the cause by saying, “There are very less chances of the third film happening now because of the fallout between Rajkummar Hirani and (producer) Vidhu Vinod Chopra. It has been several years since they parted ways following the #MeToo allegations against Hirani. In fact, there was a film with a working title Munna Bhai Chale America, but that was soon shelved without any reason. The script was finalised and the pre-production had also started, but it could not happen.”

Sources further claim that the studios became engaged in the situation after the claims and withdrew their backing. According to a source from Star World, “it was decided that Fox Studios would cancel Munna Bhai 3 if Hirani was found guilty.” The film studio expresses its support for the survivor.
