Sonakshi Sinha Speaks On Her Role in “Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar

Actress Reflects on Her Riveting Role Opposite Manisha Koirala

Sonakshi Sinha’s performance in “Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar” has garnered nationwide acclaim, showcasing her exceptional talent. In this Netflix series, Sonakshi’s portrayal is complemented by a stellar cast, including Manisha Koirala and Richa Chadha, enhancing the series’ charm.

In an intriguing twist, Sonakshi and Manisha play rivals in the show. Recently, Sonakshi discussed her experience working with the veteran actress and how she managed to convincingly portray her onscreen adversary. During an interview with Instant Bollywood, Sonakshi revealed that she felt compelled to apologize to Manisha after watching the series. She remarked, “I was like, how have I done this? Meri ye majaal kahaan se aayi (How did I dare to do this?).” She attributed her performance to the inspiration of working alongside such a talented actress, which pushed her to excel.

Sonakshi further shared that having grown up watching Manisha Koirala, she felt a responsibility to deliver a strong performance. “It is such a pleasure to have that banter with each other, you are fully into it. I enjoyed working with Manisha mam,” she added.

Earlier, in an interview with PTI, Sonakshi expressed her belief in her ability to deliver captivating performances when given the right roles and directors. “If you give me the right roles and right directors, I can do magic,” she stated.

Looking ahead, Sonakshi will star in Aditya Sarpotdar’s horror comedy “Kakuda,” produced by Ronnie Screwvala, alongside Riteish Deshmukh and Saqib Saleem. Additionally, she is set to appear in “Nikita Roy and The Book of Darkness.”
