Snowpiercer’s Final Season Finds New Rails on AMC After TNT Derailment

In a twist of fate, the concluding chapter of the acclaimed dystopian series “Snowpiercer” has secured a new berth on AMC, following TNT’s unexpected cancellation of the show’s fourth season. Initially slated to air on TNT, the final installment will now grace screens under the AMC banner sometime in 2025.

Originally greenlit for its fourth season back in 2021, TNT had announced that it would mark the end of the journey for “Snowpiercer.” However, in a surprising turn of events in January 2023, plans to air the anticipated season on TNT were derailed due to budgetary constraints. Nonetheless, fans can now breathe a sigh of relief as AMC steps in to ensure the saga’s conclusion sees the light of day.

Inspired by Bong Joon-ho’s acclaimed 2013 film, “Snowpiercer” weaves a gripping narrative around the remnants of humanity, sheltered aboard a perpetual train traversing a frozen world. Stemming from Jacques Lob’s French graphic novel “Le Transperceneige,” the series has garnered critical acclaim, with an ensemble cast featuring Daveed Diggs, Sean Bean, Jennifer Connelly, and more.

Josh Friedman and Graeme Manson, the creative minds behind the show, have shepherded its evolution, with Emmy-nominated writer Paul Zbyszewski taking the helm for the final season. Despite the setbacks, the dedication of the cast and crew has persisted, as expressed by a network spokesperson’s sentiments of admiration and support.

With AMC providing a new platform for “Snowpiercer” to reach its conclusion, fans can anticipate the same enthralling narrative and visually striking experience that has defined the series, ensuring a fitting farewell to this post-apocalyptic odyssey.
