Shahid Kapoor Reflects on Past Heartbreaks Ahead of ‘Deva’ Release
Actor Discusses Personal Growth and Relationship Insights on Raj Shamani’s Podcast

As Shahid Kapoor prepares for the January 31, 2025, release of his action thriller ‘Deva’, he also looks forward to celebrating a decade of marriage with Mira Rajput Kapoor in July. Before his marriage, Shahid experienced notable relationships and breakups, including with Kareena Kapoor, and faced rumors linking him to Priyanka Chopra and Amrita Rao.
In a recent appearance on Raj Shamani’s ‘Figuring Out’ podcast, Shahid candidly discussed the emotional challenges of his past relationships. He shared, “Sometimes when your heart breaks, you feel you are not good enough.” He acknowledged his own neediness in relationships, stating, “I am needy, I need to be comforted, I need to be made to feel like I am so important—these are selfish things,” emphasizing that true love is about selflessness. He further noted that for a relationship to succeed, both partners must be giving and make concerted efforts. “If something doesn’t come naturally, it might be a sign that either the person isn’t right for you, or you’re not right for them,” he added.

Shahid and Mira’s arranged marriage in 2015 has flourished, and they are now parents to daughter Misha and son Zain. Reflecting on his past, Shahid’s insights offer a glimpse into the personal growth that has shaped his current perspectives on love and relationships.
In ‘Deva’, directed by Rosshan Andrrews, Shahid portrays a police officer who challenges conventional rules. The film also features Pooja Hegde, Pavail Gulati, Pravesh Rana, Kubbra Sait, and Girish Kulkarni. His previous film, ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’ with Kriti Sanon, was a box-office success.
