Shahid Kapoor and Vishal Bhardwaj Reunite for ‘Arjun Ustara’

Upcoming Film Set in 1990s Mumbai Underworld Features Ensemble Cast Including Triptii Dimri, Nana Patekar, and Randeep Hooda

Following the release of ‘Deva’ on January 31, 2025, Shahid Kapoor is set to collaborate once again with director Vishal Bhardwaj on their fourth project together, tentatively titled ‘Arjun Ustara’. This film marks their reunion after previous successes like ‘Kaminey’, ‘Haider’, and ‘Rangoon’.

In a recent interview, Kapoor described ‘Arjun Ustara’ as a love story set against the backdrop of Mumbai’s gangster scene in the 1990s. He noted that, similar to ‘Kaminey’, the film possesses a unique and heightened world, adding an intriguing layer to the narrative.

The ensemble cast includes Triptii Dimri in a strong female lead role, as well as seasoned actors Nana Patekar and Randeep Hooda. Kapoor expressed his excitement about working with Patekar and reuniting with Hooda, whom he has known for many years. Additionally, Vikrant Massey will make a special appearance in the film.

Reflecting on his collaboration with Bhardwaj, Kapoor stated that working with the director has always been a privilege. He believes that ‘Arjun Ustara’ is their most universally appealing and relatable film to date.

The film is currently in production, with an expected release date of December 5, 2025.
