Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jawan’ Soars to Box Office Success, Director Atlee Teases Sequel Plans

Jawan, starring Shah Rukh Khan, is sounding quite right. Director Atlee, who is undoubtedly riding high after the success of Jawan, made his Hindi feature debut with this project as well. Following a string of box office success, SRK’s Jawan is aiming to join the 500 crore club. Atlee has now admitted that he didn’t give the movie’s lead actor “a second thought.” Atlee mentioned to Pinkvilla during their talk that, “Jawan is only made for (Shah Rukh) Khan sir.” He said, “Jawan is only made for Khan Sir. I didn’t have a second thought about who is going to do it.” Atlee, who has worked with Thalapathy Vijay in a series of blockbuster films including Theri, Mershel and Bigil, also revealed how he used to discuss the scenes with the Tamil superstar.

Atlee said, “But from day 1, the script, the scenes, what I do, how it went; the only person I interacted with was Vijay sir. He is like a brother to me. And we are very serious about what we do in life. So he used to share about his films. I shared what I was doing and all.”

Atlee said further, “So he was very advisory and always a backbone to me. We shared a lot of stuff on Jawan, what is happening on Jawan; but it is purely made for Shah Rukh,” he added.”

The director was very open about his intentions for the sequel to Jawan. Atlee claimed to have left Jawan’s climax as a “open end”. If anything substantial comes to me, I’ll make a part two for Jawan. I could write a sequel now or in the future because I left the ending open. But I would undoubtedly create a Jawan sequel at some point, he added.
