Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki Set to Dominate Cinemas Amidst High Anticipation and Box Office Battle

Bollywood maestro Rajkumar Hirani is gearing up for the grand release of “Dunki,” featuring the charismatic Shah Rukh Khan, hitting theaters this Thursday. The film follows the stellar success of SRK’s earlier ventures in the year, “Jawan” and “Pathaan,” each raking in over Rs 1,000 crore globally. The highly anticipated premiere at Mumbai’s iconic Gaiety Galaxy, a single-screen theater, is scheduled for 5:55 am, promising a jubilant affair as devoted fans ensure a festive opening for SRK’s latest cinematic venture.

“Dunki” boasts a stellar cast, including Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani, Anil Grover, Vikram Kochhar, and Dia Mirza, making it one of the most awaited movies of the year. Notably, the film marks Rajkumar Hirani’s comeback after a five-year hiatus, adding an extra layer of excitement for fans.

As “Dunki” makes its way to the silver screen, it signals the beginning of an eagerly anticipated box office clash between SRK’s film and Prashanth Neel’s “Salaar: Part 1-Ceasefire,” featuring Prabhas. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, “Salaar” has already garnered Rs 18.54 crore in pre-sales on its first day, while the comedy-drama “Dunki” boasts an impressive Rs 11.46 crore from advance bookings. Notably, “Dunki” will be exclusively available in Hindi, in contrast to “Salaar,” which is set to captivate audiences in multiple languages.

Despite the overwhelming praise on social media hailing “Dunki” as a cinematic masterpiece, a faction of critics has voiced dissent, branding it as Rajkumar Hirani’s least potent effort to date. A Twitter review expressed, “#OneWordReview…A review on Twitter read, “#Dunki is definitely #RajkumarHirani’s weakest film till date! The humour is unfunny, and the script and execution are dull! #Taapsee and #ShahRukhKhan literally have 0 chemistry which was important for a film like this #VickyKaushal was the only saving grace #DunkiReview.””
