Shah Rukh Khan Hails Virat Kohli as Bollywood’s Beloved ‘Damaad’

SRK Reflects on Friendship and Dance Moments with Ace Cricketer, Anushka Sharma’s Husband

In the whirlwind of IPL 2024, Shah Rukh Khan has once again taken the center stage, not just with his Kolkata Knight Riders’ fervent support, but also with his endearing camaraderie with ace cricketer Virat Kohli. The Bollywood icon, known for his fervent fandom and charming persona, recently showered praise on Kohli, whom he affectionately dubbed as Bollywood’s beloved ‘son-in-law’.

In a heartwarming conversation with Star Sports India, Khan shared his fondness for Kohli, reminiscing about the time spent together, particularly during Kohli’s courtship days with Anushka Sharma, Khan’s co-star in several movies. “I spent a lot of time with him, I just love him. We say that he is our son-in-law, he is our fraternity’s ‘Damaad’. I have known him the most compared to other players. I have known Virat and Anushka for a long time and spent a lot of time with them,” Khan expressed.

Their bond transcended the cricket field, as evidenced by their playful camaraderie during last season’s IPL, where they showcased their dance moves to the beats of Pathaan’s title track. Reflecting on this moment, Khan shared, “So, I taught him (Virat Kohli) the Pathan dance steps. I saw him during one of India’s matches. He attempted to dance with Ravindra Jadeja throughout the match. They were trying to perform that dance step. I was quite disappointed with how poorly they were performing. I told them to let me teach them the steps.”

Meanwhile, in the realm of Bollywood, Anushka Sharma, Kohli’s better half, has been gearing up for her much-anticipated return to the silver screen. Since her last appearance in the 2018 film Zero, alongside Khan and Katrina Kaif, her fans have been eagerly awaiting her comeback. Sharma is currently immersed in her upcoming project, “Chakda Xpress,” a biographical sports drama directed by Prosit Roy and produced by Karnesh Sharma.

“Chakda Xpress” delves into the life and challenges of former Indian women’s cricket team fast bowler Jhulan Goswami, portraying her journey with authenticity and grit. Alongside Sharma, the movie features a stellar cast including Renuka Shahane, Koushik Sen, and Mahesh Thakur, promising an immersive cinematic experience that celebrates the spirit of resilience and determination.
