In a recent appearance on the Game Changers podcast, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga shared insights into his upcoming film ‘Spirit’ starring Prabhas, as well as his casting decisions for ‘Animal’. The conversation has garnered significant attention online.
When asked about the possibility of ‘Spirit’ achieving a ₹2,000 crore box office milestone, Vanga acknowledged the challenge, referencing ‘Baahubali 2’ as the benchmark. He emphasized his focus on crafting an engaging film without the pressure of surpassing previous records.
Discussing ‘Animal’, Vanga revealed that Ranbir Kapoor was his sole choice for the lead role, stating that Kapoor’s name came to him “organically” due to the film’s emotional depth. He added that Shahid Kapoor’s name didn’t come to him naturally for this project.

Reflecting on his collaboration with Shahid Kapoor in ‘Kabir Singh’, Vanga praised the actor’s originality and adaptability. He recounted an instance where they improvised a scene on set, leading him to believe that Shahid shouldn’t pursue remakes, given his original acting style.
