Salman Khan Reveals He Was Initially Considered for ‘Ghajini’ Lead Role
Actor Discusses How Co-Star’s Remarks Allegedly Influenced Casting Decision

As the release date of his much-anticipated film Sikandar approaches, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has opened up about a significant casting decision from his past. During a recent press conference promoting Sikandar, Khan disclosed that he was originally considered for the lead role in the 2008 blockbuster Ghajini, a role that ultimately went to Aamir Khan.
Salman recounted that actor Pradeep Rawat, who portrayed the antagonist in Ghajini, informed him about the initial consideration. Despite their previous collaborations, Rawat allegedly expressed doubts about Salman’s compatibility with director A.R. Murugadoss’s disciplined approach, citing concerns over Salman’s reputed anger issues. These remarks may have influenced the filmmakers to cast Aamir Khan instead.

Reflecting on the situation, Salman mentioned that he hasn’t had the opportunity to discuss this with Rawat, as their paths haven’t crossed since. However, he expressed a desire to address the topic if they meet in the future.
Meanwhile, Sikandar, directed by A.R. Murugadoss and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, is set to release on March 30, 2025, coinciding with Eid celebrations. The film features Salman Khan in a dual role as Sanjay Rajkot and Sikandar, alongside Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Sathyaraj, Sharman Joshi, and Prateik Babbar. The narrative follows a fiery youth confronting a powerful network of corruption, emerging as a beacon of hope for the common people.
