Salman Khan Reflects on Jail Time and Shares Life Lessons on Nephew Arhaan Khan’s Podcast

The Bollywood superstar discusses his prison experience and offers advice on humility and perseverance during his debut appearance on “Dumb Biryani.”

In a candid conversation on his nephew Arhaan Khan’s podcast, “Dumb Biryani,” Salman Khan opened up about his time in prison related to the blackbuck poaching case and imparted wisdom on maintaining humility and dedication in one’s career.

Salman revealed that he utilized his jail time to catch up on sleep, a luxury he seldom enjoys due to his demanding schedule. He mentioned, “I generally sleep for a couple of hours, and once a month, I get 7–8 hours a day. Sometimes, I sleep when I get a few minutes’ break between shoots. I can only sleep when I don’t have anything else to do. So, I slept nicely when I was in jail.” Reflecting on his prison stints in 1998, 2006, and 2007, totaling 18 days, Salman noted that the lack of activities led him to rest more during those periods.

Beyond sharing personal anecdotes, Salman advised Arhaan on the importance of not letting success cloud one’s judgment and the necessity of continuous hard work. He emphasized, “You can take absolute responsibility for your failures, but success is never just yours. If you allow it to get to your head, you will get messed up, for sure. If you let go of this enthusiasm, you are allowing yourself to become a much older version of yourself. That should never happen.”

On the professional front, Salman Khan is gearing up for the release of “Sikandar,” an action film directed by AR Murugadoss, slated to hit theaters on March 28, 2025. The movie also features Rashmika Mandanna in a pivotal role.
