Salman Khan Reflects on Age Gap with Younger Co-Stars Amid ‘Sikandar’ Promotions

The actor discusses challenges and intentions of collaborating with emerging actresses like Ananya Panday and Janhvi Kapoor.

As the release of his upcoming film ‘Sikandar’ approaches, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has addressed the topic of significant age differences between him and his younger female co-stars. During a recent press interaction, Khan candidly discussed the complexities of working alongside the new generation of actresses, including Ananya Panday and Janhvi Kapoor.

Khan expressed his concerns, stating, “I can work with the new girls. They will become stars and get bigger and better films. But then age gap… ye baaten karke toh apne inka beda hi gark kar diya. Ab agar mujhe Ananya Panday ya Janhvi ke saath kaam karna pada toh mujhe 10 baar sochna padega. Aur das baar sochkar bhi main unke saath kaam karunga.”

At the trailer launch of ‘Sikandar’, Khan was questioned about the 31-year age difference between him and his co-star Rashmika Mandanna. He responded assertively, “When the heroine doesn’t have a problem, why do you have a problem? When she gets married and has a daughter, I will work even with her daughter. Mom will give permission.”

Khan also commended Mandanna’s dedication, highlighting her commitment despite health challenges. “Rashmika was shooting for ‘Pushpa 2’ till 7 pm. She would come to ‘Sikandar’ set at 9 pm and shoot with us till 6:30 am, and then go back to ‘Pushpa’. She was not well also. After breaking her leg, she continued to shoot, didn’t cancel a day. In many ways, she reminds me of a younger me,” he remarked.

Directed by AR Murugadoss and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, ‘Sikandar’ boasts a star-studded cast including Kajal Aggarwal, Sathyaraj, Prateik Babbar, Anjini Dhawan, and Sharman Joshi. The film is slated for a theatrical release on March 30, 2025.
