Sai Pallavi’s First Biopic ‘Amaran’ Set for Diwali Release: Plays Sivakarthikeyan’s Wife in a Powerful Role
The Telugu and Tamil star portrays Indhu Rebecca Varghese in a biopic about Major Mukund Varadharajan, marking her first on-screen pairing with Sivakarthikeyan.

Sai Pallavi, known for her captivating performances in Telugu and Tamil cinema, is set to make her much-anticipated big-screen return with the Diwali release of Amaran. This film, based on the life of the late Major Mukund Varadharajan, will showcase her in a significant role as the on-screen wife of Sivakarthikeyan, with the two appearing together for the first time. As the countdown to the release on October 31 begins, Amaran has kicked off its promotional campaign in full swing.
Recently, the film’s core team—Sivakarthikeyan, Sai Pallavi, director Rajkumar Periyasamy, and music composer GV Prakash Kumar—traveled to Malaysia for a promotional event where further details about Sai Pallavi’s role were unveiled.
In her portrayal of Indhu Rebecca Varghese, Pallavi took a deeply personal approach, revealing that even though this was her first biopic, she focused on staying true to the emotions of her character. To better understand the story, she connected with Indhu Rebecca’s life, speaking to the late Major Mukund Varadharajan’s family to bring authenticity to her performance.
A notable aspect of Amaran is its divergence from the expectations of many fans. Despite both Sai Pallavi and Sivakarthikeyan being known for their dance prowess, the movie doesn’t feature any dance numbers between them. Pallavi explained that the plot did not call for such sequences, though fans were eager to see the two talents perform together. Instead, a recent teaser gave a glimpse of Pallavi’s character, showcasing her strength and grace, traits that are central to her role.
As the release date nears, the excitement is further fueled by the upcoming debut of the film’s first song, “Hey Minnale,” which is expected to drop soon. Directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy and set to release this Diwali, Amaran promises to deliver a gripping narrative with powerful performances by its leading stars.
