Reacher Renewed for Fourth Season Ahead of Season 3 Premiere

Prime Video secures another season for its hit action series, with a spinoff in the works.

Prime Video is moving full speed ahead with Reacher, renewing the action-packed series for a fourth season even before the third season airs in 2025. This early renewal mirrors the announcement of season three, which was confirmed before the release of season two in December 2023.

The decision to continue Reacher is unsurprising given the show’s massive success on the platform. Based on Lee Child’s popular novels, the series follows Jack Reacher (played by Alan Ritchson), a lone-wolf problem-solver. Season two quickly became Prime Video’s most-watched release of 2023, further cementing its place as a powerhouse for the streamer. In addition to the main series, a spinoff focusing on Frances Neagley (played by Maria Sten) is also in development.

Reacher has become a global phenomenon, surpassing our highest expectations,” said Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon MGM Studios. “We’re excited to bring back the show for another season and look forward to more thrilling adventures from the incredibly talented team behind it, including showrunner Nick Santora, Alan Ritchson, and Lee Child.”

Season three of Reacher will be based on Persuader, the seventh novel in Child’s series. In this season, Reacher goes undercover to save an informant from a dangerous figure from his past. While Maria Sten’s character Neagley doesn’t appear in the book, she will return for the new season, along with other confirmed cast members including Anthony Michael Hall, Sonya Cassidy, and Brian Tee.

The show is produced by Amazon MGM Studios, Skydance Television, and CBS Studios, with Santora, Child, and Ritchson serving as executive producers alongside Don Granger, Scott Sullivan, Mick Betancourt, and others from Skydance TV.
