Rajkumar Hirani Confirms Munna Bhai 3 Is His Top Priority as Fans Eagerly Await the Iconic Duo’s Return

Lead actors Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi have been expressing their excitement about reprising their iconic roles in the much-awaited third installment of the Munna Bhai MBBS franchise. Director Rajkumar Hirani has now amplified the anticipation, confirming that Munna Bhai 3 is his top priority.

“I have five half-finished scripts for Munna Bhai. I spent six months on one, got to the interval, and then hit a block,” Hirani shared. He revealed various concepts he’s been toying with, including Munna Bhai LLB, Munna Bhai Chal Base, and Munna Bhai Chale Amreeka. Despite the challenges, the filmmaker, who recently helmed Dunki starring Shah Rukh Khan, remains committed to the project.

“The most important thing is that the next film has to be better than the previous ones,” Hirani said. “After 100 years of cinema, it feels like everything has been done before, but I have a unique idea I’m working on.”

He added that finishing the third Munna Bhai movie is a pressing matter, especially with Sanjay Dutt eager to return to the role. “Sanju might just come to my house and threaten me to get it done,” Hirani joked, acknowledging the actor’s enthusiasm for the project. He confirmed he is seriously contemplating the next steps for the franchise.

Sanjay Dutt portrayed Munna Bhai, while Arshad Warsi played his loyal sidekick Circuit in the earlier films Munna Bhai MBBS (2003) and Lage Raho Munna Bhai (2006). A third film, Munna Bhai Chale America, was initially in development, but the project was shelved following Dutt’s legal troubles. Now, with Hirani’s commitment to moving forward, fans are once again hopeful that the beloved duo will grace the big screen in another heartwarming adventure.
