Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan Join Forces After 33 Years for Thalaivar 170
Filming Resumes in Chennai

Rajinikanth, the legendary South Indian actor, has been immersed in the production of his highly-anticipated movie, Thalaivar 170. The film has created a significant stir, not only in the South but also up North, as it marks the reunion of Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan after a hiatus of 33 years. Last week, the production team successfully wrapped up the first schedule of the film in Mumbai, with Rajinikanth subsequently returning to Chennai.
It has been confirmed that the filming will continue in Chennai; however, it will be on a brief hiatus for a few days. An insider revealed, “After an intense and power-packed schedule, Rajinikanth and the team have taken a break to celebrate Diwali. They will resume shooting on the 13th of November, embarking on a 20-day stint.” The insider also dispelled rumors of a return to Kerala, where the initial portion of the film was shot, clarifying that it is already completed, and the team is now set to explore other cities.
Regarding Amitabh Bachchan’s involvement, a source clarified, “No, he has predominantly filmed his part in Mumbai and won’t be joining the Chennai schedule for now. The Chennai leg of the shoot will feature Rajinikanth and the rest of the cast, including Faahad Faasil, Rana Naidu, and others.”
However, a separate source contradicted this, suggesting that Amitabh Bachchan’s involvement may not be entirely concluded. Ongoing discussions indicate that Bachchan has allocated ten more days for the project and intends to travel to Chennai for further shooting. The source noted that Bachchan had a fantastic time during the Mumbai schedule and is eager to reunite with the cast.
In a somewhat unrelated comment, the source expressed concern over the commercialization of education, stating, “The common man is suffering because the powerful people have turned education into a business.”
