Raghava Lawrence Denies Rumors About Mrunal Thakur in Kanchana 4
Actor Clarifies Casting Speculations on Social Media

Recent buzz about Mrunal Thakur’s debut in Kollywood with Raghava Lawrence’s “Kanchana 4” has been put to rest by the director himself. Mrunal Thakur, who has garnered significant acclaim in South India with her roles in “Sita Ramam” and “Hi Nanna,” was rumored to join the popular horror-comedy series. However, Raghava Lawrence addressed these rumors directly on X (formerly Twitter).
On Sunday afternoon, Raghava Lawrence shared a photo of himself on X, stating that all circulating information about the “Kanchana 4” cast is unfounded. He wrote, “Hi friends and fans, all the information regarding Kanchana 4 and casting that are circulating around social media are just rumors. Official announcement will be made through Raghavendra Production. Coming soon.”

Despite the clarification, fans expressed their desire to see Mrunal Thakur in the film through various comments under her tweets. Enthusiastic messages included, “Mrunal besttt,” and “Mrunal ni set chey bro, (Rope in Mrunal bro).” Another fan urged, “Ayyo… But do make it happen, please. When composing the script, keep #kanchana 1 in mind to make it unique and quality. Cross your fingers. Tonight, I’ll watch the first section. The first section was epic.”
“Kanchana 4” marks the fifth installment in Raghava Lawrence’s horror-comedy series, with the actor-director reprising his lead role from the previous films. The series began with “Muni” in 2007 and has since become a beloved franchise in South Indian cinema.
