R. Madhavan Nominated as President of FTII Governing Council

On Friday, the Pune-based Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) announced the nomination of actor-director R Madhavan for president and chairman of its governing council.
Anurag Thakur, a union minister, posted the information on X (formerly known as Twitter) and praised the actor who had made the transition from actor to filmmaker with his Oscar-winning movie “Rocketry: The Nambi Effect.”

the I&B Minister wrote,”Heartiest congratulations to @ActorMadhavan ji on being nominated as President of @FTIIOfficial and Chairman of the governing council.I’m sure that your vast experience & strong ethics will enrich this institute, bring positive changes, & take it to a higher level. My best wishes to you,”

Madhavan wrote to the minister to express gratitude for the chance. : Thank you so very much for the honour and kinds wishes Anurag Thakur ji. I will do my very best to live up to all the expectations,”
The actor, who is well-known for his multilingual roles in movies like Vikram Vedha, Rang De Basanti, 3 Idiots, and Kannathil Muthamittal, will succeed director Shekhar Kapur as FTII president.

‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect,’ a biographical drama centered on the life of former ISRO scientist S Nambi Narayanan, won big at the 69th National Film Awards on August 24, following the momentous success of ISRO’s Chandrayaan-3 mission. The actor received the Best Feature Film honor, which brought honor to the nation. The movie also focused on S Nambi Narayanan’s early career as a scientist after his Princeton University education.R Madhavan will play the lead role in Sashikanth’s forthcoming film “Test.” The world of cricket is reported to be the focus of this movie, which stars Madhavan.
