Pushpa: The Rule Faces Release Delay Amid Reshoots and Editing Challenges

Scheduled August 15 Release in Jeopardy as Production Issues Arise

“Pushpa: The Rule,” one of the most eagerly awaited films of 2024 featuring Allu Arjun in the lead role, was initially set to hit theaters on August 15, 2024. However, recent developments indicate a potential delay in its release.

The original “Pushpa” was a box office phenomenon, amassing an impressive 268 crores in India. Following this success, the sequel was announced in August 2022 with a substantial budget of 500 crores, making it one of India’s most expensive productions. Despite the high costs, the film is expected to not only recover its budget but also generate significant profits, thanks to Allu Arjun’s massive fan base.

According to a new report by Telugu 360, the release of “Pushpa 2” might be postponed. Allu Arjun had initially instructed the team to complete shooting by mid-June. However, director Sukumar and his team have revised some scenes, leading to additional shoots.

Fahad Faasil, who plays the lead antagonist, has also adjusted his schedule for these reshoots, which are currently underway. Complicating matters further, the film’s main editor, Karthika Srinivas, has stepped down, with Navin Nooli now handling the editing process.

Additionally, director Sukumar is reportedly dissatisfied with the current VFX work, necessitating more time to achieve the desired quality. While the shoot is now expected to wrap up by the end of July, meeting the original release date seems increasingly unlikely.

Allu Arjun is pushing for the team to work around the clock to meet deadlines, but this is proving to be a significant challenge.

As of now, there has been no official confirmation regarding the delay. Fans and industry watchers alike await an official announcement.
