Puri Jagannadh’s Comeback: Vijay Sethupathi and Tabu Join Forces for Pan-India Film ‘Beggar’

After a string of setbacks, director Puri Jagannadh teams up with acclaimed actors Vijay Sethupathi and Tabu for ‘Beggar,’ a multilingual film set to commence shooting in June 2025.

Renowned Telugu filmmaker Puri Jagannadh is poised for a significant comeback with his upcoming pan-India project, tentatively titled Beggar. The film has garnered considerable attention following the confirmation of Tamil superstar Vijay Sethupathi in the lead role. Sethupathi, celebrated for his versatile performances in films like Maharaja and Viduthalai Part 2, reportedly greenlit the project after a single narration, impressed by the compelling script.

Adding to the film’s allure, veteran actress Tabu has been cast in a pivotal role. Known for her powerful performances across Indian cinema, Tabu’s involvement was officially announced by the producers, who shared their excitement on social media, stating, “She’s electric. She’s explosive. She’s The Tabu. Proudly welcoming The Gem of Indian Cinema, Actress Tabu on-board for a role as dynamic as her presence.”

The production is scheduled to begin in June 2025, with plans to release the film in multiple languages, including Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi, aiming to cater to a diverse Indian audience. Charmme Kaur, a frequent collaborator of Jagannadh, will handle the production responsibilities under the KVN Productions banner.

This project marks a crucial juncture in Jagannadh’s career, following the underwhelming performances of his recent films Liger and Double iSmart. With a strong cast and a promising narrative, Beggar is anticipated to be a significant step in reestablishing his standing in the Indian film industry.

Further details regarding the film’s plot and additional cast members are expected to be announced in the coming months.
