Prakash Jha Confirms Raajneeti 2 in Development as Aashram 4 Moves Forward
Producer Dishaa Jhaa reveals the filmmaker’s upcoming projects, including the sequel to the iconic political drama and a new theatrical release titled Janadesh.

Filmmaker Prakash Jha is once again returning to the political storytelling space that defined much of his career. According to producer Dishaa Jhaa, the director is currently working on multiple projects, including the much-awaited sequel to Raajneeti and the next season of the hit web series Aashram.
Dishaa confirmed that Aashram Season 4 is officially in development and will continue the gripping story that has made the series one of India’s most popular streaming shows. The series, which stars Bobby Deol as the controversial godman Baba Nirala, has built a massive following since its debut and continues to generate strong buzz with every new installment.
At the same time, Jha has begun developing Raajneeti 2, the sequel to his 2010 political drama that featured a powerful ensemble including Ranbir Kapoor, Ajay Devgn, Katrina Kaif, Arjun Rampal, Nana Patekar, and Manoj Bajpayee. The original film was widely appreciated for its layered portrayal of power struggles in Indian politics and became one of the most talked-about political dramas of its time. Dishaa clarified that the sequel is currently in the scripting stage, and casting decisions will only be taken once the screenplay is locked.
Apart from these projects, the team has also completed a new film titled Janadesh, which is now in post-production. The film stars Rahul Bose, Tusshar Kapoor, Ishwak Singh, and Pragati Srivastava. The makers are currently looking to finalize a studio partner and are hoping to release the film in cinemas soon.
Meanwhile, Dishaa Jhaa has also been expanding her own presence in the industry as a producer. She recently backed the political drama series Sankalp, which features actors like Nana Patekar and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub.
With Aashram 4, Raajneeti 2, and Janadesh all moving forward, Prakash Jha seems ready to revisit the socio-political narratives that have long been his cinematic signature, promising audiences another slate of intense and thought-provoking stories.
