Prabhas’s Next Thriller Spirit Faces Setbacks: Weight Transformation and Scheduling Demands Delay Shoot
Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga wants the star in a dramatically revamped avatar, pushing filming into 2026 as Prabhas wraps his packed slate including The Raja Saab and Fauji.

Pan-India superstar Prabhas is navigating a tight schedule filled with high-profile commitments, and his much-anticipated collaboration with Sandeep Reddy Vanga—Spirit—is experiencing further delays.
Originally slated to begin shooting in September 2025, Spirit has been pushed back due to Prabhas’s ongoing work on The Raja Saab and Fauji. Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, known for his perfectionist approach, wants Prabhas to undergo a significant transformation before stepping into the role.
The actor is reportedly on a weight-loss mission and has adopted a new look to play a younger, sharper police officer. This is a stark shift from his rugged appearances in recent films, and the director is said to be very particular about showcasing Prabhas in a leaner, stylish avatar.
Adding to the excitement, Spirit will explore darker, psychological themes with supernatural undertones—marking a departure from Prabhas’s recent action-driven roles. Triptii Dimri has come on board as the female lead, replacing Deepika Padukone, making this her first onscreen pairing with Prabhas. The film is being produced by T-Series in collaboration with Bhadrakali Pictures.
While a formal launch with a puja ceremony is expected in September 2025, Prabhas is likely to join the sets only by January 2026. The actor is expected to shoot continuously for nearly four months once he wraps up his current projects, paving the way for Spirit to become one of the most ambitious films of his career.
