Prabhas Eyes Sankranti Release for ‘The Raja Saab’
The horror-comedy gears up for a grand festival clash as its teaser smashes 59 million views in just 24 hours

Pan-India superstar Prabhas is all set to charm audiences with The Raja Saab, a romantic horror-comedy directed by Maruthi. Backed by People Media Factory and IVY Entertainment under the production of TG Vishwa Prasad, the film is in its final stages of post-production and is targeting a festival release window.
Although initially announced for a December 5, 2025 release, the makers are now looking at a Sankranti 2026 release around January 9. Producer TG Vishwa Prasad recently confirmed this shift, explaining that the festival season would ensure maximum reach and box-office potential.
Prabhas headlines the film alongside Malavika Mohanan, making her Telugu debut, with Nidhhi Agerwal and Riddhi Kumar also in pivotal roles. Bollywood veteran Sanjay Dutt takes on a powerful antagonist role. The technical crew includes Thaman S composing the music, Karthik Palani handling cinematography, and Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao as the editor.
Adding to the hype, Netflix has bagged the Hindi streaming rights for a staggering ₹100 crore, to premiere after its theatrical run. However, promotions faced a hiccup when portions of the teaser leaked online, leading the makers to issue strict warnings and threaten legal action against violators.
As Prabhas continues to ride high on the success of Salaar and Kalki 2898 AD, The Raja Saab is shaping up as one of his most awaited releases, expected to kick off 2026 with a bang.
