Paramount+ Renews Spy Thriller ‘The Agency’ for Season 2 After Record-Breaking Debut
Showtime’s Most-Watched New Series Makes Waves Globally with 5.1 Million Viewers

The spy thriller series The Agency has received a rapid Season 2 renewal at Paramount+ with Showtime, following a record-breaking launch. The series premiered on streaming and on-demand on November 29, with its linear debut on December 1. According to Paramount and VideoAmp data, the first episode attracted a staggering 5.1 million viewers worldwide, earning it the title of Showtime’s most-watched debut series ever.

Based on the acclaimed French series Le Bureau des Legendes, The Agency follows Martian (Michael Fassbender), a CIA operative forced to abandon his undercover identity and return to London Station. When a lost love resurfaces, his heart clashes with his mission, plunging him into a high-stakes world of espionage and international intrigue.
The star-studded cast also features Jeffrey Wright, Jodie Turner-Smith, Katherine Waterston, Richard Gere, and Hugh Bonneville as a guest star. Recurring roles are filled by talents like Adam Nagaitis, Ambreen Razia, and David Harewood.
