OMG 3 Is Officially in the Works: Akshay Kumar to Return in Grandest Installment Yet

Director Amit Rai confirms the third chapter of the social-dramedy franchise is underway, with Akshay Kumar both starring and producing—script already in progress, shoot expected in 2026.

The beloved Oh My God! series is gearing up for its third chapter, and fans have every reason to celebrate. After exploring themes of blind faith in the original and addressing social issues in OMG 2, director Amit Rai has confirmed that OMG 3 is officially moving forward—and it’s set to be the biggest one yet.

Speaking in a recent interaction, Rai assured that the next installment will “be bigger than what you’ve seen before” and revealed that writing has already begun. He also confirmed that Akshay Kumar will reprise his much-loved role—not just as the lead actor, but as a producer too. With his dual involvement, Rai said there was never any question about Akshay’s presence in the project.

The creative process is actively underway. Rai and Akshay have been brainstorming multiple storylines—most recently during the wrap-up of Akshay’s Bhooth Bangla shoot in Kerala—to ensure the third film delivers fresh and impactful storytelling. While plot details remain a mystery, the makers aim to uphold the series’ legacy while elevating its scale and emotional depth.

If everything goes as planned, OMG 3 is expected to go on the floors in the latter half of 2026. Casting announcements and finer details will follow once the script is finalized.

The OMG films have been loved for blending humor, emotion, and social commentary in a courtroom drama setting. Akshay’s involvement in OMG 2 went far beyond acting—he memorably narrated scripts, offered creative input, and stayed engaged through every stage of production. This hands-on approach is expected to continue with OMG 3, heightening anticipation for what could be the most ambitious chapter in the franchise.
