New on Netflix this week

The third season of the kids’ adventure series ‘Spirit Rangers’ is coming to Netflix this Monday, April 8, 2024. The animated preschool series features three siblings, and in the new season, they return to help more friends at Xus National Park.

On April 9, 2024, stand-up comedy ‘Neal Brennan: Crazy Good’ will be available on the streaming giant, bringing us some laughs to get over the Monday blues and get on with the week. On Tuesday, season 1 of the Japanese live-action thriller drama series ‘Destiny,’ is also getting released along with the 2023 Philippine historical biographical ‘GomBurZa.’

It looks like Wednesday comes bearing a lot of gifts. French crime thriller ‘Anthracite’ comes to Netflix on April 10, 2024. The limited series is created by Fanny Robert and Maxime Berthemy. Next on the list is the 2023 Thai supernatural horror movie ‘Death Whisperer,’ which is adapted from Krittanon’s novel Tee Yod.

The first season of the Colombian drama series ‘The Hijacking of Flight 601’ will be available on Netflix this Wednesday. The Netflix Original series, directed by Camilo Prince and Pablo González, is based on the longest aerial hijacking in Latin American history.

Netflix also brings us the first season of the reality series ‘Unlocked: A Jail Experiment.’ In this upcoming docuseries, a sheriff implements a radical social experiment. Last on the list for Wednesday is the true-crime documentary ‘What Jennifer Did.’

On Thursday, Netflix releases the second season of the Turkish drama series ‘As The Crow Flies,’ followed by the British psychological drama, ‘Baby Reindeer.’ The second season of the Australian teen drama series, ‘Heartbreak High’ will also be available from April 11, 2024, along with season 2 of the kids’ educational musical, ‘Meekah.’

On April 11, 2024, the first season of the Netflix Original series ‘Midsummer Night’ debuts. The upcoming Norwegian drama shows a family get-together that goes wildly wrong when secrets surface. The 2023 American action thriller ‘The Bricklayer’ will also be released on the streaming giant. The movie is directed by Renny Harlin and is based on the 2010 namesake novel by Paul Lindsay under his pen name Noah Boyd.

As the weekend arrives, Netflix takes care of our binging needs. Starting off the list for Friday, the Filipino drama movie ‘A Journey,’ followed by the Indian musical film starring Diljit Dosanjh, Parineeti Chopra, and Anurag Arora, ‘Amar Singh Chamkila.’

On April 12, 2024, season one of the animated adult sitcom ‘Good Times’ will be released along with the Spanish movie ‘Love, Divided.’ The romantic comedy is a remake of the French title ‘Behind the Wall.’ African comedy-drama ‘Smart Casual’ and Swedish thriller ‘Stolen,’ which is about a young woman tracking down a killer to seek revenge, are also on the list for Friday. Lastly, the new live-action/animation hybrid movie Woody Woodpecker Goes to Camp will be available on the platform for the kids to enjoy and the adults to go on a nostalgic trip.

The last new release on Netflix marks to be the Japanese live-action drama, which debuts this Saturday, April 13, 2024. The romance drama is based on the namesake manga.
